THEY TALK ABOUT US!
14 Jun 2018Located along the river in Gatineau, the Bed and Breakfast Aux Berges des Outaouais offers a stay of tranquility, close to Ottawa.
It is in 2001 that the cottage Aux Berges des Outaouais opens its doors. For the owner, it is a drastic change of career that brings him from the legal to the hotel industry. As a result of a car accident, Ms. Dumont can no longer practice her profession. She decided to turn her home on Jacques-Cartier Street into a bed and breakfast. She and her husband Pierre Drolet have renovated, built and decorated to offer their guests a home where it is good to stay. Mrs. Dumont is a warm and attentive hostess, which is probably the reason why more than 85% of her clients come back to the house.
AN INN DOUILLET SURROUNDED BY MATURE TREES AND WATERFRONT
On one side, a magnificent terrace overlooking the Ottawa River where a sublime breakfast is offered every morning to the guests. The perfect place to observe the couple of geese and their chicks who have made their home just across the street. Behind the house is a lounge-style patio waiting for you. There is also an outdoor fireplace and a swing for the warm summer evenings. In addition, a novelty awaits you this year: a petanque court. A small party of balls for the 5 to 7, accompanied by a pastis offered by the house, the French as much as the Quebecers adore! And if you are very lucky, you will see some deer at the edge of the wood, come expressly to greet you, like the beautiful Tara that can be observed during two seasons.
A variety of 30 lunch menus allows Ms. Dumont to offer her clients different lunches each day. Three course meals served with coffee, orange juice and toast are exceptional. Buttered toast cooked directly on fire will make your taste buds tickle. And what about her secret recipe, a delicious little pancake, other than it's really worth?
